Connections

The evoVIU camera system offers a wide range of flexible communication options as standard in the VISIONWEB application, enabling seamless integration into a wide variety of industrial and IT system landscapes.

The camera can communicate with a wide range of endpoints – from local devices to cloud-based platforms – and supports various protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, MQTT, RFC1006 (ISO-on-TCP) and Kafka. In addition, classic file storage targets such as FTP and NAS systems or cloud services such as Azure or AWS are available.

Depending on the application, data can be sent or received cyclically, event-driven, or manually. Any number of communication endpoints can be configured – both for the transmission (publish) and reception (subscription) of data.

In the following chapters, we explain in detail which connection types are available, how they are set up, and in which scenarios they can be used effectively.

This guide will help you select the appropriate communication method for your application and configure it optimally.

Without the targeted implementation of workflows with communication protocols, no independent communication takes place in the system. The camera only establishes contact once a corresponding connection has been set up and activated in the workflow.
