Image capture

Image acquisition via VISIONWEB forms the central starting point for working with the evoVIU platform. With VISIONWEB, camera modules can be accessed, configured, and flexibly integrated into workflows both locally and remotely. This not only captures camera data, but also enables additional functions such as lighting control, lens settings, and flash control. This creates a uniform interface through which all steps—from selecting the image source to the final capture—can be conveniently controlled.

Various image sources are available for recording. In addition to the evoVIU's internal camera, external evoVIU camera modules and, in the future, GENICAM cameras can be integrated, as well as image sequences stored on network storage (NAS) or cloud servers. This allows live images and stored data sources to be used in parallel and processed within the workflow. Furthermore, the remote camera allows images to be retrieved from another evoVIU and seamlessly integrated into your own workflow. The assignment is based on the unique UUID of the respective source, ensuring clear and secure identification.

A key advantage of VISIONWEB is the ability to specifically control not only the actual image capture but also the light and optics. The Image Source component allows for individual adjustments of exposure time, gain, flash modules, and lens parameters. This allows image quality to be optimally tailored to the specific application – whether in changing lighting conditions, fast production processes, or detailed inspection tasks.

VISIONWEB combines all the necessary functions in a single platform: selecting image sources, configuring cameras, controlling lighting, and adjusting optics. This makes image acquisition not only flexible, but also efficient and precise, for integration into the workflow.
