Safety instructions for evoVIU

This chapter contains safety instructions for using the camera.

Intended use

This product from evopro systems engineering AG (hereinafter referred to as evopro) must be used in accordance with the following operating principle:

Smart and AI cloud camera

The evoVIU smart camera can be used in industrial applications for reading and processing a wide variety of features. These include:

• Presence monitoring

• Character recognition (OCR)

• Surface inspection

• Barcodes and QR codes

• Crack detection

• Network camera / cloud camera

The smart camera can currently be used in the following industries:

• Special machine construction

• Logistics

• Automotive industry

• Food industry

• Packaging industry

• Wood industry

• Paper industry

• Electronics industry

• Research & universities

Improper use

• No safety components in accordance with Directive 2006/42 EC (Machinery Directive)

• Not suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres

• The product may only be used with the accessories supplied or approved by evopro. External lighting connected to the Docker interface and within the performance characteristics is excluded from this rule.

Risk of personal injury or property damage if used improperly

Improper use can lead to dangerous situations. Note: The information on proper use must be observed.

Staff qualifications

• Appropriate technical training is required!

• Electrical engineering training within the company is necessary!

• Specialist personnel involved in operation require (permanent) access to the operating instructions. Access via a browser is possible at any time at Camera IP/docs.

Risk of injury or damage to property if not installed and maintained correctly!

Damage to personnel and equipment is possible. Note: Adequate training and qualification of personnel

Modification of products

Risk of personal injury or property damage due to modification of the product!

Damage to personnel and equipment is possible. Failure to comply may result in loss of the CE mark and warranty. Note: Modification of this version is not permitted without the written consent of evopro!

General safety instructions

The following instructions must be observed throughout the product's lifetime.

• These instructions are part of the product and must be kept for the entire service life of the product.

• In the event of changes, you will find the current version of the operating instructions at evoviu.de/evoviu-documentation. When updating the camera software, also at IP address/docs

• The operating instructions must be read carefully before using the product.

• The smart camera must be protected from contamination and mechanical impact to the best of your ability.

Information on data security and authentication

The camera is delivered without authentication enabled. This means that no login is required to operate it and you can start using it immediately.

For security reasons, we recommend that you adjust the default settings in the areas listed below immediately upon receipt to ensure the security of your system. Please coordinate these steps with your IT department or make an informed decision on your own responsibility.

Recommended action	Change the master password via User Management and/or create new users with roles.

Recommended action	Change the password for the Wi-Fi access point under >Settings>Network settings Switch off the access point when you are not using it.
Further recommendation: WLAN	Before commissioning the access point in production, check whether approval from the responsible authority is required. The radio band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) and the channel within the selected band can be configured via the device settings. Selecting a suitable channel avoids potential interference from other devices in the same band or channel.
