This chapter provides general information about this user manual and the evoVIU camera.

Information about this guide

• The following instructions apply only to the evoVIU product series.

• These instructions enable safe handling of the product.

• Throughout its service life, these instructions will be part of the online database or available via the camera itself. The documentation is automatically updated with camera updates. This can be found as a PDF in the file storage from version 7.7.0 onwards.

• National occupational safety regulations and local accident prevention regulations must be observed during commissioning and use.

Explanation of symbols

The following signal words are used in the product documentation to warn of risks and hazards.

DANGER

indicates an immediate high-risk hazard that will result in death or serious bodily injury if not avoided.

WARNING

indicates a potential hazard with a medium risk that could result in death or (minor to serious) bodily injury if not avoided.

NOTE

indicates the possibility of incorrect operation, which may damage the product.

These signal words correspond to the definition commonly used in the European Economic Area for civil applications. Other definitions may exist in other economic areas. It is therefore important to ensure that the signal words described here are only used in conjunction with the associated product documentation and only in conjunction with the associated product. The use of signal words in connection with unrelated products or unrelated documentation may lead to misinterpretation and thus to personal injury or property damage.
